Tata IPL: biggest ever season of IPL!

Yes; IPL 2022 is at our doorsteps welcoming us to join India’s most loved premiere league watched over by 400 million cricket lovers across the world. This season is all about a ‘welcome back’ moment for IPL to the indian stadiums. IPL 15^th season or Tata IPL 2022 would possibly be the best season so far as it’s a long end to the most awaited moments. This season would be played entirely from India after two years of happenings from UAE as a repercussion to the pandemic breakdown since 2019.As far as Tata group is concerned, it’s an another cloud nine moment for them as it’s their first ever season as Indian Premiere League’s stunning title sponsor. 

2 days IPL 2022’s auction had come to end on 13^th of February this year which resulted to be the ‘cash cow’ of premiere leagues. All totally 204 players were sold in the mega auction took place on Bengaluru which in turned BCCI to encash transfer worth 552 Cr. Wicket Keeper Ishan Kishor was bought back by Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians for 15.25 Cr which marked to be the biggest buy of this season. India pacer Avesh Khan has become the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL winning the bid at 10 Cr. In short franchise owners have definitely taken into account to invest on players with a brighter perspective and a forward looking approach which would definitely help them set the best squad for this season alike. 

As mentioned earlier  this season is big. Big even in terms of the team count . Tata IPL 2022 would be the first ever season to be played with 10 teams in the point table. Which means 14 more matches as add on to the previous season. However BCCI has not yet released the schedule and venues of this. Infact Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are the newly welcomed ones backed by Indian multinational conglomerate RPSG Group and British private equity firm CVC Capital Partners respectively.

The season is likely to commence from April 2^nd but it is reported that the official broadcaster Star Sports has urged BCCI to start from March 26^th onwards. Anyway the season is just within our hands and let’s see what Tata IPL has got to narrate a different line from the previous 14 seasons.
